I am Shraddha Bhattarai, a licensed attorney at law admitted to the New York State Bar, with over seven years of experience in corporate law, tax, and regulatory compliance. My legal practice spans multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, Nepal, and India, providing me with a unique, global perspective on legal matters, particularly in corporate governance and cross-border transactions. I hold an LL.M. in Tax and Corporate Law from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where I served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of International Law. My professional experience includes roles such as Law Clerk at Adelman Matz P.C., specializing in IP and entertainment law, and Head of Legal at Daraz Kaymu Pvt. Ltd. (an Alibaba Group company) in Nepal. In this role, I led the acquisition of a target company in the e-commerce sector, advising on regulatory restrictions, structuring transactions, and drafting key documents such as shareholder agreements and due diligence reports to minimize risk and ensure compliance. Additionally, I provided business-focused legal guidance to cross-functional teams, including product, contracting, staffing, and marketing, by mitigating legal risks in complex decisions, implementing contract management procedures, and overseeing the deliverables of legal officers to optimize efficiency and support the company’s strategic goals.

At Ncell Axiata Limited, I handled high-stakes tax litigation and played a key role in amending significant tax legislation. My role as a consultant with Ernst & Young LLP in India allowed me to advise multinational corporations on complex tax and regulatory issues, enhancing my expertise in cross-border transactions and corporate structuring.

In addition to my New York licensure, I am also licensed to practice law in Nepal, which enhances my ability to navigate complex international legal issues.
